Cold Steel Hot Blood
The House of the Great Church is located on the northern edge of central Brindinford away from the noise of the docks and the mills, surrounded by lush trees and some of the more upscale homes. The daily tolling of the bells in the campanile lightens the hearts of all that hear them. It reminds them of the stability and protection that is offered by the Stewards of the Great Church. The temple itself is a beautiful building both tall and broad, with wide front doors welcoming the faithful and at the same time offering protection and shelter from the dangerous heathens so common in a frontier town. Here the needy can find shelter, clothing, and food if they require it.
The Dean of the Brindinford Great Church is Gellow Iris. A Myloxian born man who has been appointed to Brindinford for the last two decades where he fulfills both the roles of the Dean and the Deacon. He has returned the church to it’s rightful position as a leader in town policy and, Gellow will remind any who question, a primary reason why Brindinford has remained a safe and stable community in the shadow of the Chaos Wastes. Dean Iris is a stern man who is patient and compassionate to his congregation but wary and mistrustful of the many lay-abouts and outsiders that seem to flock to frontier towns.
Dean Gellow’s right hand is cleric Sillitta Ederus, a native to Brindinford in her middle forties who has devoted her life and work to the needy of Brindinford. She does not judge the heathen populations as harshly as her mentor and will often extend a hand in aid to any who are in need. She views such opportunities as a chance to bring converts into the fold. As Dean Gellow has become more involved with the politics of Brindinford Sillitta has taken on more and more of his roles as Dean of the church. She believes it is only a matter of time before she is awarded that position officially.
There are two other clergy in training to whom the more mundane activities fall to under the watchful eye of both Gellow and Sillitta. In addition to the above the temple houses a half dozen churchguards, anointed men at arms who will give their lives to protect the church and the members of the congregation.
